In this unit on depth, students created observational still life drawings using objects from the art room. Instruction focused on composition, sighting, and “blobbing” to establish accurate proportion and form.

 

Students then applied value through blending, stippling, hatching, and cross-hatching to develop depth and realism. The project builds foundational skills in observation, light, and spatial understanding.
