My Work
This gallery showcases a selection of my personal artwork across photography, drawing, and digital media. My work reflects an ongoing exploration of composition, storytelling, and visual problem-solving, principles that directly inform my teaching practice. By continuing to create, I aim to model the same curiosity, discipline, and creative risk-taking that I encourage in my students.
The Shape of Conscience
The Shape of Conscience is a photographic novel created through tableau photography, blending digital photography and hand-drawn imagery into a mixed media approach. The work uses staged scenes to explore identity, memory, and moral conflict through visual storytelling.
Drawing Work
This body of work demonstrates my focus on observational drawing, including the study of proportion, value, form, space, and depth. Through a range of approaches, these drawings reflect an ongoing commitment to developing technical proficiency and visual literacy.
Photography
This collection highlights still life photography centered on composition, lighting, and the use of formal elements such as value, texture, and space to create visually engaging and intentional images.
Umbra Vigil
Umbra Vigil is a photo noir book and an early exploration of tableau photography, marking my first use of staged imagery to construct narrative and visual storytelling.
As a precursor to The Shape of Conscience, this work focuses on lighting, composition, and cinematic storytelling to create a sense of tension, mystery, and atmosphere.
My Storyboarding Process
This page highlights my storyboard process as a form of visual problem solving. Drawing inspiration from an en plein air mindset, I establish structure, value, and clarity before developing detail.
Through quick sketches and written notes, I explore sequencing and spatial relationships to ensure each panel communicates with purpose.
