Oil Monsters
This project was implemented in a Unified Art setting, where general education students worked alongside and supported peers with diverse learning needs. The structure of the lesson emphasized clear visual modeling, step-by-step instruction, and peer collaboration, allowing all students to engage successfully. The focus remained on color relationships, material exploration, and creative problem-solving within an inclusive classroom environment.
In this project, students applied their understanding of warm and cool color schemes while exploring the wax-resist technique with oil pastels and watercolor. After creating expressive compositions, they identified shapes within their work and developed them into imaginative characters.
