Dotted Worlds
In this unit, students explored Pointillism and how artists like Georges Seurat used small marks to build larger images, like the original pixels.
Students used the grid method to transfer their landscape designs before building their scenes dot by dot with colored markers. This project emphasized patience, attention to detail, and how color can visually blend through repeated marks.

After transferring their image using the grid method, students reinterpreted the composition through an en plein air approach, simplifying the scene into essential shapes and values before applying color through pointillism.
